Yale Whiffenpoofs Performance at Stratford High School
February 3, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.

Join Stratford High School on Tuesday, February 3rd at 7:30 p.m. as we host SHS Chorus Alumni Brandon Sherrod and the Yale Whiffenpoofs live in concert!!

Featuring Stratford High School's Select Choir and Boy's and Girl's a cappella group.  General seating and limited tickets means this event could sell out fast.  Here is the Ticketbud with ticketing information:

Each year, 14 Yale seniors are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the word's oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella singing group.  Founded in 1909, the all-male ensemble claims a number of distinguished alumni including Cole Porter, Rudy Vallee, and U.S. Senator Prescott Bush. The Whiffenpoofs' signature ballad (which is still sung at every concert) has been recorded by famous musicians like Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Elvis Presley.

The Whiffenpoofs perform more than 200 concerts each year in such venues such as Carnegie Hall, the White House, and the Lincoln Center.  They have also been featured on television shows such as "Glee," "The Sing Off," "The West Wing," and "Saturday Night Live." This year, all 14 Whiffs have taken the year off from school to travel the world and will perform for audiences on all six inhabited continents.

The Whiffenpoof's visit to Stratford High School has been organized by current group member Brandon Sherrod, who attended Stratford High School.  Since matriculating at Yale University, Brandon has studied a political science major and played for the Varsity Basketball Team.  He plans to pursue a career in local politics after college.

The Whiffenpoofs' repertoire of jazz standards, classic ballads, traditional Yale songs, and recent hits continue to delight audiences all over the world. They look forward to sharing their musical excellence and professional showmanship with nearby resident this February.  For more appearance schedules or tickets to any of their performances, visit the Whiffenpoofs' webpage at
